A Vietnam Veteran Is Asking Americans to Help Veterans and Seniors Save Money—One Share at a Time

“Welcome home.”

“Thank you for your service.”

As a Vietnam Veteran, I’ve heard those words many times.

They mean something. Especially “Welcome Home,” because many Vietnam Veterans remember a time when those words were not always waiting for us.

But today, I’d like to ask you to take those words one small step further.

Welcome Veterans home with more than words.

You don’t have to donate money. You don’t have to volunteer for hours. You don’t even have to be a Veteran.

You can help simply by liking, commenting and sharing this message.

I Discovered I Was Overpaying $26 Every Month

My name is Bruce Goldwell. I’m a Vietnam Veteran, author, and the founder of Senior Vet Discounts.

While developing Senior Vet Discounts, I discovered something surprising.

My own cell phone provider offered a Veteran discount.

I qualified for it.

But I wasn’t receiving it.

After I found the program and applied, my bill dropped by $26 a month.

That’s almost $300 over 12 months.

The discount was there.

I simply didn’t know about it.

That made me wonder:

How many other Veterans and Seniors are paying more simply because they don’t know a discount exists?

That’s one of the reasons I created Senior Vet Discounts.

Find. Show. Save.

Senior Vet Discounts is being built to help Veterans and Seniors discover participating businesses, national discount programs, and other savings opportunities.

The idea is simple:

FIND businesses and available savings.

SHOW your eligibility when required.

SAVE before you pay.

But there’s another part of this project that involves everyone—including people who aren’t Veterans or Seniors.

Support the Businesses That Support Them

Imagine having a choice between two local businesses.

One actively supports Veterans and Seniors with a special discount or offer.

The other doesn’t.

Senior Vet Discounts can help make that support visible.

That means Veterans and Seniors can find businesses that appreciate them—and everyone else can choose to support those businesses too.

That’s how this can become more than a discount directory.

It can become a community of:

Veterans supporting businesses.

Seniors supporting businesses.

Businesses supporting Veterans and Seniors.

And ordinary citizens supporting all of them.

Here’s Where I Need Your Help

I can’t personally reach every Veteran in America.

I can’t visit every American Legion, VFW, Senior center, retirement community or local business.

But together, we can reach a lot of them.

If you believe Veterans deserve more than a few kind words, please do three simple things:

LIKE.

It helps tell social platforms that people care about this message.

COMMENT.

Even something as simple as “Welcome Home” or “Thank you for serving” helps keep the conversation moving.

SHARE.

This is the most important one.

Share the video or this article with your friends.

Share it with a Veteran.

Share it with a Senior.

Share it in your social groups.

Share it with Veteran and Senior organizations.

And share it with local business owners who might want Veterans and Seniors to know they support them.

One Share Could Make a Difference

Think about what could happen from one share.

A Veteran sees it and discovers a discount on a bill he’s been paying for years.

A Senior discovers a participating restaurant.

A business owner decides to begin offering a Veteran or Senior discount.

A Veteran organization shares Senior Vet Discounts with hundreds of members.

You might never know what happened after you clicked Share.

That’s okay.

Someone shared information that eventually helped me discover I could save $26 every month.

Now I’m trying to pass that opportunity along.

Welcome Them Home With More Than Words

The next time you say:

“Thank you for your service.”

I hope you’ll remember Senior Vet Discounts.

Help us build a community where supporting Veterans and Seniors isn’t only something we say.

It’s something we do.

WELCOME THEM HOME WITH MORE THAN WORDS.
